Begitu melangkahkan kaki masuk ke dalam gedung ini, aroma semerbak cengkih langsung merasuk,wangi dan memancarkan energi. Tak heran, selain nilai historis dan artistiknya, konon HOS banyak menjadi inspiring para penikmat seni untuk mengeksplor ide-ide cemerlangnya..

Dimulai sepeda tua, lemari besi, motor Jawa 250cc, gallery seni dan perkakas jadul lainnya, HOS yang didirikan th 1913 oleh Liem Seeng Tee,yang merupakan eks panti asuhan jaman kolonial Belanda, layak menjadi lokasi pendongkrak gagasan brilian. Ribuan karyawan yang melinting Dji Sam Soe menjadi pemandangan tersendiri bagi pelongok museum ini.

World Championship of Custom Bike Building 2008 - RESULTS



Goldammer Crowned World Champion again!

After three and a half days of competition the Official World Championship of Custom Bike Building has drawn to a close. What began over a year ago with a series of 12 Affiliate shows, covering four continents and an estimated over 2,000 competitors, has culminated at the pinnacle of motorcycling's Holy Grail, Sturgis, South Dakota. This year's OWC has been held at Champions Hall in the heart of Sturgis, South Dakota. Since the opening of the hall on Sunday morning, thousands upon thousands of spectators have poured over the 68 motorcycles, which represent 13 different countries.


People from all walks of life, from local residents to industry insiders, to the builders themselves, have spent many hours studying various aspects of the bikes, which represent the highest level of motorcycle craftsmanship and fabrication in the world.

The competition was divided into four different classes, Metric, Modified Harley-Davidson, Production, and the creme de la creme, the Freestyle Class.

The awards ceremony began promptly at 3:00 pm CST with master of ceremony Chris McGee keeping the packed hall of anxious competitors and spectators entertained. With each winner being announced the anticipation level grew and grew.

Before getting to the class winners McGee announced the winners of the Partners Picks of Excellence. These were motorcycles selected by partners of the OWC, which they felt represented the best use of their parts.

With no time to waste McGee jumped into the announcement of the overall winner of the Metric Class, Jim Giuffra of AFT Customs, located in Martell, California, with his entry Er Hed.

Next up was Lock Baker's entry from Eastern Fabrications in Branford, Connecticut, "White Line Nightmare", taking top honors in the Modified Harley-Davidson Class.

It was now time for what everyone was waiting for, the announcement of the finishers in the Freestyle Class. For an unprecedented third time, Canadian Roger Goldammer got the top honors being named the World Champion and overall winner of the Freestyle Class. This is the third time in five years Roger has come out on top of the competition. Roger's entry for 2008 is the same bike that he competed with on the Bonneville Salt Flats in September of 2007, a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected blown sport bike, with nitrous that achieved a top speed of just over 164 mph, as he took home a world record with an average speed of 160+ mph. AMD magazine and the World Championship program had started to detect the early signs in a quantum shift in custom design and engineering thinking several month ago. Goldammer's win confirms that performance may well be poised to emerge as the market's "New Retro" on a moving forward basis. Just as Roger's first World Champion bike of five years ago set the standard for the trends to come, we expect his creation "Goldmember" to do the same in the years to come.

SURABAYA, 3 Agustus 2008 – Pembalap Suzuki IRC U Mild AHRS, M.Fadli #162 memenuhi ambisinya untuk naik podium utama di kejuaraan Indoprix Seri III di Sirkuit Kenjeran Surabaya, Minggu (3/8). Fadli berhasil menaklukan keangkuhan Sirkuit Kenjeran yang selama empat tahun terakhir tidak pernah memberikan podium baginya. Fadli akhirnya bisa naik podium setelah memenangi duel sengitnya dengan Hokky Krisdianto di kelas IP2 (125 cc) pada race kedua dengan mencatat total waktu 13:26,109 detik unggul 0,135 detik dan 6,487 detik atas pembalap Jawa Timur, Denny Triyugo di posisi ketiga. Pada race pertama, M. Fadli berada di posisi kedua di bawah Hokky Krisdianto.


Namun rekan setim Fadli, Dedy Fermadi #45, kali ini kurang beruntung setelah terjatuh di race kedua. Di kelas IP1 (110 cc) para pembalap Yamaha mendominasi jalannya lomba, di mana Hokky Krisdianto memenangi dua race berturut-turut disusul Florianus Roy dan Denny Triyugo.

Kemenangan di Kenjeran sekaligus menjadi sejarah bagi Fadli, karena untuk pertama kalinya meraih podium utama di Indoprix selama seri tahun ini. ”Tentu saja hasil ini membanggakan bagi saya, di mana saya bisa mematahkan mitos tidak pernah menang di sini sejak tahun 2004 dan juga karakter sirkuitnya terkenal cocok untuk motor Yamaha. Semua ini berkat Tuhan serta dukungan tim dan sponsor serta semua pihak yang telah mendukung saya,” kata Fadli dengan haru.

Menanggapi keberhasilan Fadli, Brand Manager U Mild, Yasin Tofani Sadikin, sebagai salah satu sponsor yang mendukung tim Suzuki IRC U Mild AHRS, menyatakan rasa bangganya karena Fadli bisa mencapai targetnya menjadi juara di seri ini. ”Sejak babak kualifikasi kemarin, kami sudah yakin kalau Fadli akan naik podium meskipun secara peluang cukup berat karena pembalap Yamaha lebih dijagokan di Kenjeran. Semoga di seri-seri selanjutnya, Fadli maupun Dedy bisa menunjukkan terus prestasinya,” bangga Tofani.

Lebih lanjut Fadli mengatakan, perjuangannya merebut juara sangat berat karena harus berjuang melawan ketangguhan para pembalap Yamaha. Bahkan hingga lap terakhir, Fadli masih terlibat duel dengan Hokky. Namun, berkat kesabaran dan konsentrasinya yang tinggi Fadli masih bisa unggul atas pembalap Jawa Tengah tersebut. ”Sementara di kelas IP1 (110 cc) memang sangat berat, karena saya bertanding sendirian di tengah kepungan para pembalap Yamaha. Tapi persaingan di klasemen IP1 ini masih terbuka peluang bagi saya untuk mempertahankan gelar, karena selisih poinnya pun tidak terlalu jauh,” jelas Fadli.

Kemenangan kali ini menambah perolehan poin Fadli menjadi 87 di IP2, di bawah Hokky Krisdianto (114) dan Hadi Wijaya (112), sementara Dedy Fermadi di urutan ke 13 dengan poin 26. Di kelas IP1, Fadli berada di urutan kelima (66 poin) di bawah Hokky Krisdianto (96), Hadi Wijaya (81), Hendriansyah (72) dan Forianus Roy (71), sementara Dedy Fermadi di posisi ketujuh dengan 63 angka. Setelah Kenjeran, putaran keempat Indoprix rencananya akan dilangsungkan di sirkuit Kalan, Kalimantan Timur, Agustus ini.
